Bloomwrite exists to help those organisations communicate and engage more effectively – so that the work they do reaches the people it should, builds the relationships it needs, and has the impact it deserves.
What clients tend to value most is that things start to feel manageable. There’s a direction. They can see how communication and engagement will work better – not in theory, but in practice, within their actual team and their actual constraints.
We work with publishers, membership associations, educational institutions, and mission-driven organisations where clear communication is the core challenge. Some clients have no communications function and need help building one. Others have established teams and bring us in for an external perspective, strategic clarity, or support on a specific project.
I’ve spent two decades working in scholarly publishing and the research ecosystem, across communications, PR, events, thought leadership, content marketing, policy communication, and change communications. Most of that time was at Wiley, one of the world’s largest scholarly publishers, where my last six years were spent building and leading an editor engagement programme from scratch, spanning communications, training, events, community platforms, and internal enablement.
What that gave me was something I couldn’t have got any other way: a genuine understanding of how communication and engagement works across every part of a complex, mission-driven organisation. How editors think. How societies operate. How researchers engage. How internal teams need to be brought along. How the best-designed strategy can still fail if the sequencing or the messaging is wrong.
I developed a real love for this sector along the way – for the progression of knowledge, for the organisations doing important work, and particularly for the societies whose entire purpose is to support the people advancing their fields. That shapes how I work and who I most want to help.
Where a project calls for it, I bring in trusted specialists so you always have the right expertise.

“I worked with Jen both as a colleague and as her manager at Wiley, and I would recommend her without hesitation. She has an ability to get to the heart of a communications challenge quickly and turn it into a clear, strategic plan. I saw her handle complex policy communication, lead large-scale engagement programmes, and navigate change communication with real skill. Any organisation would be lucky to have the opportunity to work with Jen.”
